SpringSing: Cover Me Bad, A Fun and Jazzy Night!

ree

Hello hello!

This wonderful week of music brought my to my final RiverTones concert, SpringSing: Cover Me Bad! It was my last time performing with the girls in our own concert, but we still have the Vocology concert next week.

Singing with this talented group of women has been nothing short of amazing, and even though the years have been a little bumpy (with a global pandemic and all), we made it through and made some beautiful music. They hold a special place in my heart and I am very glad to have the opportunity to work with them daily. I hope they know that I will miss them every day, and that if they sing Shiny Stockings sung by Ella Fitzgerald I will be back on the Terry Concert Hall stage in a heartbeat.

Just a little poster created by me! Had so much fun making this.

We also had the opportunity to sing with the Creekside High School Vocal Jazz Choir. They sang Light of a Clear Blue Morning by Dolly Parton, and the immensely talented girl that sang the solo, named Arsheeya, was my mic partner for our combined song, Space Oddity by David Bowie. If you see this, good luck in your college career Arsheeya! They were so professional and it was such a joy to work with such an amazing group of young women.

As a side note to the quality of this photograph (which is actually just a screenshot from the show), I completely forgot to take ANY PHOTOS! So, I'm sorry there isn't a lot of photos from that night!

We sang a wide range of songs from "Mas Que Nada" to "Born This Way", and it was a night full of laughter, some tears, and a little bit of silliness. We even had the opportunity to close out the show with "Somebody to Love" by Queen, and I was lucky enough to sing the solo parts as a duet with my fellow RiverTone Lexi. It was such a thrill, and I have to admit we sounded pretty good together (if I do say so myself)! If you missed the concert, I've inserted a link below so that you can watch it anytime. I will definitely be missing these girls more and more as graduation approaches, and this last choral concert is going to bring out some tears for sure!

Feeling bad to the bone,

Taylor.
